Really quiet mute!
Oct 19, 2017The Denis Wick practice mute delivered on time and I was pleased with that. I was really surprised at how quiet the mute made my flugelhorn sound. I could hardly hear the flugelhorn sound myself - so I feel confident that it would not bother (or even wake up) another person in the house. There was a noticeable degree of back pressure when playing with this mute though, but I guess that that is to be expected because for all intents and purposes, the configuration of the mute made the flugelhorn effectively air-tight. This mute did seem to distort the sound of the lower notes a bit. But for being strictly a quiet flugelhorn practice mute, I would recommend this mute to all levels of players.
